It should also be noted there's many more direct florins from quests this year - about 12k or so. This year is a 5 piece + 5 upgrade set that statistically about half of people who try hard at it and make the right decisions could complete a level 2 set without diamonds - and the prize is decent at level 1 set which almost everyone should be able to finish. There was however premium buildings available to be won which made many people planning to be in their age for a while happy. The year before that it was just a mishmash of new buildings - Masquerade Ball was probably the 'best' new one then - and noone in their right mind would still want those now. Last year it was Grand Bridge - a 7 level building that completing without diamonds was like winning the lottery (i spent the diamonds and completed it on my newish world at the time). But Inno's focus seems now to be on an endless progression of rewards which must be upgraded over and over again in order to get the most out of them, and, with precious few exceptions (so far at least), the one and only way to get the upgrades are to win them during the Event. The Set is, by most accounts, very nice, especially if at least three of the five pieces are upgraded. So maybe a "chance of a chance of a chance" is more accurate. So the Event can be summed up as a "chance of a chance".Īnd then, of course, each Set Piece can be upgraded.
You didn't have to wait and hope that the Set Piece you needed would be the rotating Prize and then spend your Florins on a chance to win that Set Piece (and rather a small chance at that). In past years, you just went for whatever prize you desired, hoarding Florins when the rotating Prize wasn't something you wanted and spending them when it was. If I'm correct on that, then that is my explanation as to why I find this Event to be underwhelming. Has this particular Event in past years offered as a prize Set Pieces?
I could be wrong on this, in which case my rant here will be even more irrelevant than they usually are.
